Two named to steering committee for benefit automobile festival

Allen Johnsen, owner of Allen Johnsen Racing Service, and Spike Howard, owner of Dos Hombres, have been appointed to serve on a steering committee for the Western Colorado Classic automobile event.

The four-day festival for car enthusiasts, scheduled for Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 in Grand Junction, will include car shows, day trips and golf and biking events. The event also will feature a total of more than 500 classic autos and vintage motorcycles. The Western Colorado Classic serves as a fund-raiser to benefit Hilltop Community Resources based in Grand Junction.

Johnsen and Howard recently won prizes in a California event showcasing the Porsche model 356.
