Vendors sought for honeybee festival

Vendor registration remains open for the Palisade International Honeybee Festival scheduled for April 14.

The annual festival will feature vendors selling bee-themed products ranging from honey to soft goods to household items. Informational and demonstration booths also are planned.

Forms are available online from the Web site at www.palisadehoneybeefest.com. Vendor spaces cost $55. Completed forms and payment should be sent to P.O. Box 1105, Palisade, CO 81526.

In addition to vendors and educational presentations about beekeeping, the festival will feature art demonstrations, dancers, food and beverages, live music and a spelling bee. Activities are planned for the Town Plaza as well as at the Blue Pig Gallery and Meadery of the Rockies.

Shuttle services will be available during the Honeybee Festival with stops at downtown Palisade, Meadery of the Rockies, Palisade Community Center and Wine Country Inn.

“We are offering a fun-filled opportunity for families,” said Carol Zardrozny, a member of the festival organizing committee. “Along with all the festivities, we are hoping that we can draw attention to the serious worldwide problem of colony collapse.”
