West Slope energy trade association elects new president
An environmental and governmental affairs liaison with a Colorado-based energy exploration and production company has been elected president of a Western Colorado trade association.
Doug Dennison has been elected to serve the next two years as president of the Western Slope Colorado Oil and Gas Association (WSCOGA).
Dennison works for Bill Barrett Corp., a Denver-based company with operations in the region.
Dennison succeeds Jim West as president of the WSCOGA, an organization that represents oil and natural gas operators as well as service companies in the region. Susan Alvillar, a community affairs representative for Williams RMP, was named president elect.
Dennison, a geologist and regulatory specialist, brings to his position experience in the oil and natural gas industry as well as an environmental perspective.
“Bill Barrett Corp. places a high value on the communities and environment where we operate, and being an active member of our local trade association allows individual companies to scale and leverage our civic involvement with colleagues in the industry,” Dennison said.
“That’s important when providing support to key stakeholders like sportsmen, the agricultural community and local governments who we work closely with year round.”
The last two years have brought growth and change to the WSCOGA, Dennison said. “My hope is to continue working towards common-sense local energy policy, constructive dialog with stakeholders and constructively articulating our industry’s economic benefits to the region.”
