Wineries earn medals at international competition

Four Grand Valley wineries were among the seven Colorado operations earning medals at the Denver International Wine Competition.

Meadery of the Rockies, St. Kathryn Cellars and Talon Winery in Palisade won medals at the event, as did Graystone Winery in Clifton.

A total of 261 medals were awarded to the more than 750 wines from around the world that were entered in the competition at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield.

Medal winners earn entry into the Denver International Wine Festival, a wine and food festival that will showcase a total of more than 400 wines from 18 countries. The festival is set or Nov. 6 to 10.
