Young professionals plan duck race fund-raiser

The Grand Valley Young Professionals will host a benefit duck race to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.

The event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Sept. 25 after the Fruita Fall Festival parade. The Fruita Fire Department will flood Aspen Avenue outside the Fruita Chamber of Commerce and the ducks will be released. Participants who purchased the first three ducks to cross a finish line will receive prizes: a first-place prize of two tickets to a Denver Broncos football game, a second-place prize of an iPod Nano and a third-place prize of a goodie bag.

Ducks sell for $5 each and can be purchased by calling the Fruita Chamber of Commerce at 858-3894.
