Allegiant makes listing of best small companies

A company that provides commercial air service between Grand Junction and Las Vegas as well as other travel-related services has been included for a third straight year in a magazine listing of the best small companies in America.

Allegiant Travel Co. is included in a list of 100 best small companies in America compiled by Forbes. The rankings are based on earnings and sales growth and return on equity over the past year and past five years. To be eligible for the list, companies must have been publicly traded for at least a year, generate annual revenue of between $5 million and $1 billion and have a stock price no lower than $5 a share.

“It is a distinction and honor to be included for a third year in a row,” said Maurice Gallagher, chairman and chief executive officer of Allegiant. “Allegiant’s team members have provided safe, reliable, low-cost air service for more than a decade. This recognition is a great complement to their hard work and dedication.”

Through its subsidiary, Allegiant Air, the company provides air service from small cities to six resort destinations. The company also provides customers with hotel accommodations, rental cars and other services. For more information, log on to the Web site at www.allegiantair.com.
