The City of Grand Junction has once again been recognized for financial reporting.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the city’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The certificate is the highest form of recognition from the association for government accounting and financial reporting.
“I am proud of the continued efforts of city council, city management and accounting staff to earn this award each year. The CAFR is an important record of the city’s fiscal responsibility and financial management. And to achieve this level of distinction year after year is a great achievement,” said Jodi Romero, finance director for the City of Grand Junction.
The financial report includes the results of an annual audit as city financial statements. The city was recognized for producing a report that demonstrates a spirit of full disclosure while communicating its financial story and motivating potential users and user groups to read the report
The Government Finance Officers Association serves about 19,000 government finance professionals.
