Western Healthcare Alliances hires chief innovation officer

Tom Northey

Tom Northey has rejoined the Western Healthcare Alliance in Grand Junction as chief innovation officer.

Northey will lead information technology initiatives, including the development of data analytics and value-based care solutions for the alliance and its company, Community Care Alliance.

Northey brings more than 25 years of experience in health care to his latest position, including positions with the Western Healthcare Alliance as director of information technology collaboration and vice president of information strategy. He holds a master’s degree in management from Regis University and bachelor’s degree in communication from Metropolitan State College.

“I’m excited to be back at WHA,”  Northey said. “I’m looking forward to applying my experience with health care at scale to help support the preservation of community-based rural health care.”

Angelina Salazar, chief executive officer of the Western Healthcare Alliance, welcomed Northey back. “His in-depth knowledge of rural health care challenges and experience in developing innovative solutions will be invaluable as we continue to collaborate to improve rural health care in Colorado and Eastern Utah.”

The Western Healthcare Alliance provides a range of services and programs to a total of 32 members in Colorado and Utah, including debt collection, employee benefits and group purchasing.
