Conference to offer insights into marketing and communications

Dusti Reimer listened to what participants at the inaugural Initiate Conference had to say about the event.

That’s so she could incorporate requests — and compliments — into organizing a second conference she hopes will prove even more beneficial for marketing, communications, and business professionals.

The upcoming conference in Grand Junction will once again offer insights about various facets of branding as well as inspiration to take on challenges and try new things, Reimer said. The event also will offer practical information participants can use on the job every day, she said.

Best of all, participants from the Grand Valley and elsewhere in Western Colorado won’t have to travel far to take advantage of the opportunity.

The Initiate Conference is scheduled for Feb. 20 and 21 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at 743 Horizon Drive. Admission is $199 for one day or $399 for both days. A two-day VIP pass is available for $499 that includes special seating at keynote presentations, a separate lunch with speakers and a gift. Reimer owns Elevate PR and Marketing in Grand Junction and also founded the Experience Education Foundation to stage the conference and provide other educational opportunities to marketing and communications professionals.

The Initiate Conference will include keynote presentations, breakout sessions and panel discussions as well as networking opportunities, Reimer said.

The conference is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Feb. 20 and 21 with opening talks followed by keynote presentations, media and marketing panels and creative sessions. Afternoon presentations both days are separated into what are billed as specialist, intermediate and advanced sessions.

Reimer said those sessions will cover a variety of topics that will include branding, consumer behavior, corporate culture, cyber law, digital marketing strategies, live streaming video, marketing research, search engine optimization and social media.

The keynote speakers will include Richard Fagerlin, president of a leadership development firm based in Fort Collins and author of “Trustology: The Art and Science of Leading High-Trust Teams.” Fagerlin will discuss how to build trust to create high-functioning teams.
