Attendance and revenue holds steady at 2010 Colorado Mountain Winefest

Attendance and gross revenue held steady at the 2010 Colorado Mountain Winefest, according to Sarah Catlin, executive director of the annual event.

“We are extremely pleased with this year’s event,” Catlin said. “We are also pleased with the increase of sales for events surrounding the Festival in the Park.”

The Winefest, held in September at Riverbend Park in Palisade and other Grand Valley venues, featured wines from 56 wineries in Colorado. The event also featured demonstrations with Kelly Liken, a celebrity chef from Vail, as well as workshops, live jazz music and a grape stomp.

The 20th annual Colorado Mountain Winefest is scheduled for Sept. 15 to 18, 2011, with the Festival in the Park set for Sept. 17. A Winefest also is set for June 11 in Denver. The Winefest serves as a fund-raiser for the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology, a trade organization of grape growers and winemakers.
