Benefit ball raises money to replace nursing home windows

The annual Red Baron Ball charity event raised more than 90 percent of the projected cost of replacing windows at the Family Health West nursing home in Fruita.

“We thank our wonderful sponsors and guests for ensuring that our residents are as comfortable as possible,” said Angelina Salazar, director of development for Family Health West. The nonprofit health care organization plans to replace every window in the facility with a low-e, u-value spacer window system with attractive window dressings.

Family Health West operates not only the nursing home, but also an assisted living facility and hospital in Fruita. For more information, call 858-2108 or visit the Web site located at www.familyhealthwest.org.
