Ceramics manufacturer wins safety award

A Grand Junction manufacturer is among 50 Colorado companies honored for their efforts to promote workplace safety.

C5 Medical Werks is among the winners of Circle of Safety awards from Pinnacol Assurance, a workers’ compensation insurance provider. C5 Medical Werks has won the award two years in a row.

“These are Colorado organizations that have embraced the concept of safe workplaces and then made significant effort to create that kind of environment over a sustained period of time,” said Ken Ross, president and chief executive officer of Pinnacol Assurance. “Keeping employees safe and on the job is important to Pinnacol and to the state, and our Circle of Safety recipients are leading the way.”

Circle of Safety awards are presented to Pinnacol Assurance customers who’ve had policies for at least four years and a combined four-year loss ratio of 25 percent or less and an experience modification rating of 0.85 or less. Companies also must hold state cost containment certification, offer an approved return-to-work program and have no noncompliant audits.

A subsidiary of CoorsTek, C5 Medical Werks manufactures ceramic components for dental, orthopaedic and spinal medical device manufacturers. For more information, visit the Web site located at www.c5medicalwerks.com.
