Construction contractor receives economic development award

FCI Constructors based in Grand Junction is the latest winner of an annual award honoring contributions to economic development.

The Grand Junction Economic Partnership presented the Spirit of Economic Development Award to the construction contractor. The award, also sponsored by Charter Communications, honors a business or organization that demonstrates community awareness and involvement while seeking opportunities to enhance the economic vitality of the Grand Valley.

With 133 employees in the Grand Valley and $500 million in revenue last year, FCI Construction ranks among the top 400 contractors on a list compiled by Engineering News Record. In addition to its headquarters in Grand Junction, the company operates a total of eight other offices in six states.

FCI Constructors has been involved in a wide range of projects in the region, including those for the aviation, government, health care, higher education and office sectors.

The company also contributes to a total of more than 200 local and national charitable organizations.
