Hospital hires marketing and communications director

Karen Martsoff has joined Community Hospital in Grand Junction as director of marketing and communications.

Martsoff brings to the position more than 15 years of experience in marketing, communication and sales in the public and private sectors.

Prior to joining Community Hospital, she served for eight years as public information officer for the Mesa County Departments of Health and Human Services. Before that, she worked for six years as sales, marketing and communications manager at Powderhorn Mountain Resort. She’s worked as an adjunct mass communications instructor at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction since 2011.

Martsoff holds a bachelors degree in mass communications from CMU and is working on a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications through an online program offered by Kent State University.

“We are extremely excited to have Karen join us at Community Hospital. Her experience, community connections and her passion makes her the perfect choice,” said Chris Thomas, president and chief executive officer of the hospital. “Everyone involved in the interview process was impressed with her energy, and we are looking forward to Karen continuing the excellence of our marketing (and) corporate relations department has established.”

Martsoff said she’s looking forward to her new duties as well. “I feel it is imperative to educate the community on the value of this organization, and I welcome the opportunity to showcase the diversity of Community Hospital and its partners in the health care industry.”
