The Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce will mark its third anniversary with an upcoming event in Grand Junction.

The event is set for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Chez Lena Restaurant at Western Colorado Community College, 2508 Blichmann Ave. The event will include food, beverages, music and a presentation by Garcia

Tickets sell for $25 for members and $40 for others from board members or online at www.wclatinochamber.org/payment.html. Tickets also may be paid for at the door with reservations, which are due Feb. 8. For reservations or more information, call 209-5320 or send an e-mail to info@wclatinochamber.org.

In addition to the anniversary celebration, the Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce will offer a presentation on multicultural marketing featuring Garcia. Born and raised in Mexico, Garcia has worked in the United States for more than 10 years in the multicultural marketing field with such brands as Budweiser, ESPN, Deportes and Mars Chocolate.

He went on to develop a smartphone app for movie theater patrons that translates movie soundtracks into alternate languages and synchronizes that track with movies on screen.

Garcia is a winner of the Arch Grants startup global competition as well as the emerging business of the year award presented by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s of business administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
