Real estate agent awarded for her service to groups

Sarah Speas, a broker associate with Doyle & Associates Real Estate in Grand Junction, has earned two awards for her service to local and state trade associations of Realtors.

Speaks received the Chairman’s Award of Excellence from the Grand Junction Area Realtor Association as well as the Ambassador Award from the Colorado Association of Realtors for her service as chairwoman of the Political Survival Fund.

The fund consists of contributions from Realtors interested in protecting real estate interests and property rights. The fund supports candidates and issues at all levels of government.

With just over three years of real estate experience and involvement with the local board, Speas took on the challenge of leading one of the association’s most important fund-raising efforts.

In the midst of a challenging economic environment, particularly for those in the real estate industry, Speas helped GJARA surpass its goals for dollars raised as well as overall membership participation in the Political Survival Fund.

“We evaluated past successes and opportunities and created an educational and meaningful campaign to get our members to contribute,” Speas said.  “We’re thrilled at the success we had this past year, but we’re also looking ahead at 2011 and seeing where we can improve our efforts and increase participation.”
