Weight-loss clinic opens
Ora Lee knows first hand the benefits of a weight-loss program the Grand Junction entrepreneur now offers at a new clinic.
MediTrim4Life — located at 1001 Patterson Road, Suite 1A — offers prescription human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) weight-loss therapy.
HCG is a naturally occurring hormone that works with body chemistry to eliminate certain types of fats. The hormone also resets the metabolism to help achieve and maintain a healthy weight, Lee said.
Lee said she struggled to lose weight for nearly 40 years before turning to HCG therapy.
“Before going on this program myself, I spent a lot of time researching the benefits and safety,” Lee said. “In addition to battling weight, I am a cancer survivor and wanted to make sure this was not only an effective, but safe, program.
“Now, I want to make this available and affordable to everyone who is struggling with weight,” she added. “It has changed my life in so many ways. I completed the whole program without being hungry.”
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently banned the sale of over-the-counter products claiming to contain HCG. “The true HCG can only be obtained by prescription, and that is the only product we use,” Lee said.
MediTrim4Life is a member of the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine and all patients are supervised by a nurse practitioner certified in HCG protocols.
In addition to HCG weight-loss therapy, the clinic offers other products and services. Consultations are free. The clinic is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
