“Paying” it forward

Customers pay bill with donations

Countryside Services of Grand Junction is offering customers the opportunity to pay their service bill in food and toy donations for local charities of the Western Slope.

In the month of December any customer who uses Countryside Services for any service including plumbing, drainage, and sewage can donate to receive money off their bill. Customers will receive $1 off for every non-perishable food item with food donations going to local food banks. Countryside Services has also partnered with Toys for Tots and is giving customers $5 off their bill with any new, unwrapped toy.

“We see it as our way to give back to the community after they have supported us all year long. We are prepared to work extra hard this year after the success last year. We actually had someone pay their entire service bill last year in canned goods! It was very exciting.” said Darien Marx, Owner of Countryside Services.

This year’s program began a little later than the one Countryside ran last year, so the company is looking to better last year’s results by continuing it through December 30 instead of ending the program at Christmas. The company is also looking at opportunities to run similar programs on a quarterly basis throughout the upcoming year as well.

Countryside will be collecting the non-perishable goods and unwrapped toys through December 30th. Call 434-CLOG (2564) or go to facebook.com/ countrysideservices for more information.
