Girl Scout recognition program honors three women

Three more Western Colorado women have been inducted into a recognition program conducted by Girl Scouts of Colorado.

Christy Whitney Borchard, president and chief executive officer of HopeWest; Paula Reece, marketing director of Crossroads Fitness; and Ruth Trowbridge, a community volunteer, are the 2016 inductees into the Women of Distinction program.

Inductees are selected on their basis of their professional and personal contributions to the community and the way they serve as role models for girls and women. Since the program began in Western Colorado in 2013, nine women have been inducted into the program.

Girl Scouts of Colorado will honor the 2016 inductees during a breakfast event set for 7:30 a.m. Nov. 3 at Two Rivers Convention Center, 159 Main St. in Grand Junction.

Carrie Hauser, president of Colorado Mountain College, will deliver the keynote speech at the event.   Sarah Greichen, the 2016 Girl Scouts of the USA national young woman of distinction, also will speak.

Tickets sell for $25. For tickets or information about the event or sponsorships, visit the website located at www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/wodgj.
