Dr. Jessica Fisher, a Community Hospital physician with Grand Valley Occupational Medicine in Grand Junction, has earned workers’ compensation Level II program certification.

Fisher has been invited to join the independent medical exam unit of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment as a panelist for the Division of Independent Medical Examination. Fisher is one of only one or two providers selected annually to perform independent exams for the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation.

Fisher also has earned Department of Transportation certification to perform DOT physicals and other workers’ compensation procedures. She’s also a certified medical review officer, which enables her to provide services related to drug and alcohol testing.

“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Fisher for her hard work and determination to not only finish these difficult programs in record time, but also at the top of her class,” said Dr. Donald Nicholay, chief medical officer at Community Hospital.

Fisher focuses on occupational medicine and provides services to employers and employees in Western Colorado. She holds a medical degree from the Touro University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Nevada. She completed a family practice residency at the Trinity Bettendorft program in Iowa.
