An organization that offers legal assistance, human resource management and other services to employers has changed its name to reflect its growing geographic reach.
The Mountain States Employers Council has shortened its name to Employers Council.
“While serving our members in Colorado, Arizona and Utah continues to be a key focus, our members operate and seek assistance in all 50 states. Adopting the name Employers Council better reflects our goal of meeting the needs of the business community beyond the mountain state region,” said Mike Severns, president and chief executive officer.
Founded by Denver business leaders in 1939 with 100 member companies, the Employers Council now provides services to more than 4,500 employers with a collective workforce of nearly 2 million. The organization provides services to the private, public and nonprofit sectors, including services related to employment law, HR management and training.
“We are positioned to continue delivering the highest-quality service to our member organizations as we continue to expand our footprint,” Severns said.
The Employers Council operates four offices in Colorado as well as an office in Arizona and Utah. In Grand Junction, Dean Harris serves as an attorney and manager for the Western Slope. For additional information, log on to www.employerscouncil.org or call Harris at 712-0610.
