Community Hospital has scheduled a town hall meeting for Grand Junction to explore the hows and whys of concussion management.

The meeting is set for 8:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 26 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 743 Horizon Drive. The event is geared for a wide audience that includes physicians and other health care professionals as well as coaches, parents and students.

The presentation will include presentations on the team that takes care of teams, a clinical team approach to optimal recovery, a student’s experience with traumatic brain injury treatment and recovery and an administrative perspective on concussion management. The event also will include a question and answer session.

Participants will learn about ways to prevent concussions, establish a team approach to concussion management and find ways to offer more resources to those with concussions.
