A foundation established by Bray Real Estate in Grand Junction has awarded a total of $20,500 in grants to address housing-related needs in Mesa County.

The Bray Cares Foundation awarded six grants ranging from $2,000 to $5,000. The recipients were:

American Red Cross for home fire financial assistance.

Grand Valley Catholic Outreach for a rental assistance program.

Habitat for Humanity of Mesa County for appliances.

Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley to prepare chronically homeless adults for housing.

Joseph Center for a program to assist homeless families.

Karis Inc. to provide permanent housing for youth.

Bray Real Estate established the foundation as an endowed, permanent fund with a goal to award grants on an annual basis.

The Western Colorado Community Foundation manages the fund. The foundation manages more than 250 charitable funds with a total of $80 million in assets that award more than $3.4 million in grants and scholarships annually.
