In an article on Pages 1 and 4 of The Business Times’ April 29 edition, regarding Mesa County now being without a USDA-inspected meat-processing facility, it reported Mountain Meats is no longer a USDA-inspected processing facility. It had been Mesa County’s only federally inspected meat-processing facility that provided slaughter and processing until it recently decided not to continue with the USDA designation.
To be clear, Mountain Meats remains open and processes meat in Fruita. Mountain Meats also has a meat-processing plant in Craig, and that one remains USDA-inspected and is available to Mesa County customers who want USDA inspection.
Correction: A story on Page 8 of the April 29 edition of The Business Times should have said the Crawford Row townhomes at the Dos Rios development are southwest of Grand Junction’s downtown.
