Porch Light Health, a provider of outpatient addiction-treatment services with an office in Grand Junction, announced June 3 it launched Porch Light Health University and now offers online education for providers and medical/healthcare professionals who want to learn more about substance use/addiction, mental health and evidence-based treatment.
The curriculum can be accessed online via porchlighthealth.com and was created by addiction-medicine physicians who work in the trenches, Porch Light Health said in a news release. Porch Light calls the curriculum easy to understand and says it is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, dentists, psychologists, social workers, counselors and other healthcare professionals. The curriculum provides practical training in addiction treatment and recovery support.
Porch Light Health University’s inaugural educational offering, Principles of Comprehensive Addiction Treatment: Mastering the Art and Science of Compassionate Healing of Substance Use Disorders, includes 10 online modules totaling 30.75 CE (continuing education) credits. Participants may enroll in the full bundle or take individual courses. The first module in the curriculum is being offered for free.
