- Good Quote – This came from Bananas Fun Park owner Chris Burns when discussing the updates recently made to the park:
“I think if you’ve been to our facility, if you walk around, the place is beautiful. It’s to me the most beautiful seven acres in town. You will not find a weed. It’s clean. Its flowers are beautiful. It’s my own botanical gardens, and that’s important to keep that look up, to be clean.”
- Unhappy with the Governor – The National Federation of Independent Business wasn’t pleased when Gov. Jared Polis last week vetoed Senate Bill 26-134, which would have eliminated payment-card networks’ swipe fees on the sales-tax portion of transactions in Colorado.
NFIB Colorado Director Michael Smith said in a statement: “For many small-business owners, swipe fees have become one of the most expensive line items in their day-to-day operations, second only to labor. While Main Street is penalized for collecting taxes on the government’s behalf, credit-card companies are profiting off our state’s tax code. That’s not right. It’s disappointing that Gov. Polis has vetoed this common-sense reform.”
