The Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with the Grand Junction Symphony Foundation, is looking to hire a director of development after creating the new position.

According to a July 13 news release, the role is a key step in strengthening the organizations’ fundraising capacity as GJSO and the GJSF approach several major milestones in the seasons ahead. The position will: lead strategic fundraising across major, mid-level, and planned and legacy giving; build a long-term endowment and legacy-giving program in coordination with the foundation; and ensure donor relationships remain coordinated and mission-aligned across both entities.

“As we get ready for some major milestones, this is the first piece to a great puzzle that will define symphonic music in Grand Junction for years to come,” said Andrew Price, executive director of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.

The new position reflects a shared investment by GJSO and GJSF in the organizations’ long-term stability, and it supports the symphony’s work alongside Music Director Charles Latshaw and its board of directors to expand the orchestra’s reach and impact across the Western Slope.
