During an Aug. 11 public hearing, the Mesa County Commission approved a $2.2 million contract for the replacement of air conditioning units on the Mesa County Justice Center.
The Roof Top Units will be installed by Comfort Air of Grand Junction, which was awarded the $2,223,684 contract. The units provide heating and cooling to the building. The current units are 26 years old, and getting parts to repair them has become more difficult in recent years. The industry standard life expectancy for RTUs is 20 years.
The installation is scheduled to be done at the end of February 2027.
