The Mesa County Commission on Aug. 25 approved the sale of county-owned property at 905 23 Road in Grand Junction for $549,900. That amount was the highest of two bids the county got on the 2.7-acre piece of land that has a large storage garage on it.
The county said in a news release the property supported Road and Bridge District A operations by providing space for equipment, staff and materials. Road and Bridge now uses a larger county site for those needs. Selling property that is no longer needed allows Mesa County to receive revenue from the asset rather than continue owning, maintaining and managing a separate site.
The commission’s approval allows the sale to move forward. According to the news release, ownership will transfer after the remaining contract requirements and closing are completed.
