Two accountants who work for a Grand Junction-based firm have earned valuation credentials.

Nate Fyock received the Accredited in Business Valuation credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Donna Hardy earned the Certified Valuation Analyst designation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. Both
designations involve stringent requirements, including continuing education.

Fyock and Hardy are both certified public accountants with Dalby, Wendland & Co.

Fyock and Hardy provide accurate value determinations through analysis, understanding the businesses involved and choosing the appropriate methodology.

Business valuations often are required in conjunction with the purchase or sale of a business, including aquisitions, mergers and spinoffs. Valuations also are required under other circumstances, including charitable contributions, compensation to executives, divorces, employee stock ownership plans, estate and gift taxes, stockholder disputes and succession planning.

In addition to passing an exam, Fyock had to complete 74 hours of valuation learning and education activities and demonstrate experience in valuation and financial forensics.

Hardy had to pass an exam and case study, complete a five-day training program and meet the experience threshold.

Fyock joined Dalby, Wendland & Co in 2008 and works in the audit office in Grand Junction. He provides a range of attest and accounting services, including financial statement audits, reviews and compilations. He hold’s an accounting degree from Adams State University.
