A construction company, automobile dealer and lawyer are the latest winners of annual awards recognizing business excellence and community service.
Dalby, Wendland & Co. presented its Spirit of Western Colorado awards to FCI Constructors in Grand Junction, Flower Motor Co. in Montrose and Dan Kerst of the Kerst & Strautman law firm in Glenwood Springs.
Dalby, Wendland & Co., an accounting and consulting firm with offices in Grand Junction and six other locations on the Western Slope, has presented the awards since 2004.
FCI Constructors has grown over its 36 years into a regional construction management and contracting firm with offices in five states, nearly 280 employees and annual revenues of almost $232 million. Since 1998, FCI has ranked among the top 400 contractors in an annual list compiled for Engineering News-Record magazine.
FCI employees are involved in a range of community service efforts, from coaching sports teams to serving on boards.
Flower Motor Co. traces its roots back more than a century and was one of the first businesses in Montrose to sell and service automobiles. Today, Flower Motor Co. operates Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Subaru dealerships and employs nearly 60 people.
The company contributes more than $60,000 annually in donations and scholarships.
Kerst has practiced law in Glenwood Springs for nearly 40 years. Kerst is also active at his church and in the community. He was involved in the renovation of an old police station also works with youth.
