The Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado will host its 11th annual Economic Development Summit on Aug. 19 at Grand River Health Conference Center in Rifle.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and lunch will be provided. This year’s theme is The Next Frontier: Pioneering Advanced Industries, which will highlight real tools, real stories and real solutions to grow the area’s workforce, strengthen communities, and ignite the resources that power the next frontier.

- Colorado Mesa University economics professor Natan Perry, discussing The Next Frontier Economy: Trends Shaping Northwest Colorado.
- Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, discussing Advanced Industries: Accelerating Innovation, Investment, and Growth.
- David Lopez of Elevate Quantum, discussing Quantum Frontiers: Talent, Innovation and Opportunity in Colorado.
- DJ Summers of Common Sense Institute, discussing Common Sense for Advanced Industries: Colorado’s Policy, Growth, and Risk Signals
- Kim Woodworth of Economic Development Council of Colorado will lead a regional roundtable, sponsored by the Colorado Workforce Development Council.
