Airline plans seasonal service to Montrose

Allegiant Airlines plans to offer commercial service between Montrose and Denver during the upcoming ski season.

The seasonal flights will operate twice weekly with service between Montrose Regional Airport and Denver International Airport between Dec. 17 and March 25.

In conjunction with the announcement, Allegiant offers one way fares on the route for as low as $44 and also is conducting a Facebook sweepstakes to give away seats on the inaugural flight.

The flights are intended to transport skiers and snowboarders to the Telluride Ski Area, said Jude Bricker, chief operating officer for Allegiant. “We look forward to bringing more travelers into the area to enjoy one of Colorado’s most popular ski destinations.”

Allegiant also offers service between Montrose and Los Angeles. At the Grand Junction Regional Airport, Allegiant offers service to Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
