Grand Junction Regional Airport is asking community members to support Transportation Security Administration employees who continue to work without pay during the partial federal government shutdown by donating grocery and fuel gift cards.
Requested donations are $10 or $20 gift cards from stores such as City Market, Safeway, Walmart or Sam’s Club, preferably retailers that offer both food and gas. Please note Visa and Mastercard gift cannot be accepted, and each gift card cannot exceed $20.
Gift cards can be dropped off at the collection box located in the GJT Terminal on the second floor, just to the right of the TSA checkpoint, now through the end of the shutdown. The airport offers two hours of free parking, making it easy for community members to stop by and contribute.
