A company that connects travelers to resort destinations has announced plans to add a flight between Grand Junction and Phoenix.
Allegiant expects to offer twice-weekly service between Grand Junction Regional Airport and the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport beginning April 5. Flights are planned for Fridays and Mondays.
The flights will add to the year-around service Allegiant offers between Grand Junction and Las Vegas and seasonal service between Grand Junction and Los Angeles.
“We’re thrilled to be growing in Grand Junction,” said Drew Wells, vice president of planning and revenue for Allegiant. “We’re sure area travelers will enjoy having a convenient, nonstop, ultra-low-cost option to explore everything Phoenix has to offer.”
Angela Padalecki, executive director of the Grand Junction Regional Airport, also hailed the announcement. “Since 2006, Allegiant has been a great part of our community, and we are thrilled that they are now adding an additional route for our community members.”
Allegiant announced an introductory one-way fare of $49 for tickets purchased by Jan. 16 for travel by Aug. 13.
Based in Las Vegas, Allegiant provides air service from small cities to resort destinations, operating more than 300 routes across the country.
