Alpine Bank joined with the American Red Cross of Colorado and Wyoming to raise funding for disaster relief that enabled the organization to respond to wildfires and other disasters in the two states.
“The generosity of Alpine Bank to support communities across Colorado, including those impacted by wildfires, has inspired our Colorado community to come together to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies,” said Gino Greco, chief executive officer of the American Red Cross Colorado and Wyoming region. “I couldn’t be more proud, and I am especially grateful for the leadership of Alpine Bank and the outpouring of support across Colorado.”
Alpine Bank pledged a matching gift of up to $250,000 to contributions from businesses, foundations and individuals to support Red Cross disaster relief. CoBank donated $95,000. With the matching funds, the campaign resulted in a total contribution of $554,000.
Bob Young, founder and chairman of Alpine Bank, said the bank has always tried to respond to the needs of the communities it serves.
“This summer severe drought conditions turned our Colorado forests into kindling, with multiple fires having burned thousands of acres and displacing thousands of our Colorado neighbors. Trained Red Cross volunteers met the immediate needs of hundreds of thousands of people and they continue to provide long-term support,” Young said. “Alpine Bank is so proud to stand with you and, together, help others when they need us most. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving so generously.”
Headquartered in Glenwood Springs, Alpine Bank operates 39 banking offices across Colorado and employs nearly 680 people.
