Alpine Bank observes volunteer week

Alpine Bank has donated $2,500 to the Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary in Crawford as part of a National Volunteer Week social media contest.

Alpine Bank hosted a contest on Facebook in which participants could nominate their favorite nonprofit organizations in Colorado to receive a donation. Peggy Pine of Montrose, who nominated the Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary, won the contest.

“All of us at Alpine Bank want to extend a warm thank you to everyone who participated in our National Volunteer Week nonprofit contest. We received more thn 1,400 entries and were thrilled to see the excitement Colorado has for supporting nonprofits in our communities,” said Glen Jammaron, president of Alpine Bank.

The bank also announced employees donated a total of 1,481 hours during National Volunteer Week, more than double the goal of 600 hours — or an hour per employee.
