Applications will be accepted through March 15 for an upcoming conference sponsored by Mesa State College and U.S. Sen. Mark Udall.
The conference — set for June 15 to 17 in Washington, D.C. — will offer 100 Colorado residents a better understanding of the federal legislative process.
“A healthy republic relies upon active, informed citizen participation in every level of government. This conference will give Coloradans an audience with key decision makers,” said Mesa State President Tim Foster.
Added Udall, D-Colorado: “Coloradans have a long tradition of independent thinking and civic engagement. This conference offers an opportunity for citizens around the state to meet the decision makers in Washington and give them a taste of the Western perspective. It will help them understand how they can influence the important decisions facing our country.”
Conference participants will have an opportunity to interact not only with members of congress, but also cabinet members and other leaders.
