“Providing support at the local level where we live, work and serve customers is part of the way we help our communities thrive,” said Frank Newman, Wells Fargo president for the Rocky Mountain region.
“There are so many organizations that work hard and do so much to ensure our communities and the people who live in them are the best they can be,” Newman said. “We know this program meets only a small part of the overall need. Yet when we all chip in, it adds up and together we accomplish great things. That’s why we’re proud to provide funding for so many of our locally based nonprofits.”
The Wells Fargo Community Assistance Fund was established to offer support to small nonprofit groups that don’t have the resources to compete with larger organizations for grants. Since its inception, more than 4,200 grants worth a total of more than $4.3 million have been awarded. The grants are part of a Wells Fargo philanthropic effort that in 2015 in Colorado exceeded $8.3 million and provided support to 900 organizations. In addition, Wells Fargo employees logged a total of more than 38,000 volunteer hours.
Wells Fargo, a diversified financial services company, offers a range of services through 8,800 locations nationwide. For more information, visit the Web site located at www.wellsfargo.com.
