Applications will be accepted until March 3 for the latest round of grants distributed by the Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District.

Grants are available under programs to support large-scale public works and capital projects as well as mini grants of up to $50,000 for smaller projects. The evaluation includes such criteria as the ability to address the effects of energy extraction, long-term value and sustainability.
The district has accumulated about $1.2 million in funding for the 2016 grant cycles.
