Applications will be accepted through Feb. 3 for grants for arts and cultural projects in Grand Junction.
The Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture has earmarked $40,000 for the arts grant program in 2020. Any nonprofit organization or agency in Colorado bringing a cultural experience to Grand Junction may apply for up to $4,500 in funding.
To assist organizations with the grant application process, a training session is scheduled for 3 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Grand Junction Parks and Recreation office located at 1340 Gunnison Ave. For reservations or more information about the session, call 254-3876.
Since 1992, the art grant program has supported a range of community cultural events and the organizations involved with them. In 2019, the program funded 20 nonprofit organizations with a combined economic contribution of $396,000 that employed 662 performers and contributed 12,000 volunteer hours.
