
Applications will be accepted through March 1 for a total of $20,500 in college and continuing education scholarships from Grand Valley Power based in Grand Junction.
“Grand Valley Power is dedicated to empowering the future generation of our community,” said Christmas Wharton, the communications manager for Grand Valley Power. “Providing students with the financial support they need to continue their education is an important part of our guiding principles.”
Grand Valley Power has awarded more than $236,000 in scholarships since 1996.
Scholarships are available to applicants living in homes served by Grand Valley Power who are pursuing post-secondary undergraduate educations. Awards range from $1,500 to $2,000.
Applications are due March 1, except for applications for the Western Colorado Community College electric lineworker scholarship, which are due June 1. Applications are available at high school counseling offices and on the Colorado Mesa University financial aid website. Online applications are available from www.gvp.org/scholarship-program.
