Applications will be accepted through June 27 from teen-agers interested in serving as bat boys and bat girls for the Grand Junction Rockies.

Grand Junction Subaru sponsors the contest in which the winner will collect bats, chase balls and shine cleats for the Minor League Baseball team. 

Applicants must be at least 15 years old and complete an application and brief essay on why they want to be a bat boy or bat girl. An online application is available at the website located at  www.gjrockiesbatboy.com 

The winner will take the field when the Grand Junction Rockiest host the Orem Owls for an Independence Day game.
