Artwork selected for Winefest poster

Artwork by Sandy King has been selected for the commemorative poster for the 2016 Colorado Mountain Winefest.

The piece, titled “Grapevine,” placed first in the poster competition. Artwork titled “Vintage Riverbend” by Susan Metzger placed second. Artwork titled “Harvest Delight” by Kathryn McBride came in third.

“The 2016 Colorado Winefest art contest and reception was a huge success. We love working with local artists and are thrilled to partner with Sandy King on our 25th anniversary event,” said Cassidee Shull, executive director of the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology. The trade group of winegrape growers and wineries stages the annual Winefest as a fund-raiser.

King said she’s excited she was selected as the 2016 poster artist. “I was inspired to create a piece for this competition for a while now, and am thrilled with the results,” she said.

Prints of the 25th anniversary Winefest poster will be available for purchase by the end of February.

The Colorado Mountain Winefest, presented by Alpine Bank, is scheduled for Sept. 15 to 18 in Palisade. For tickets or more information, log on to the Web site at
