Entries will be accepted through Jan. 5 for a competition to select artwork for the 2018 Colorado Mountain Winefest.

The competition is open to Colorado artists. Entries should represent the wine industry.

The Blue Pig Gallery in Palisade will host an opening reception for participating artists from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan 26. The winning artwork will be selected by a vote.

The Colorado Association for Viticulture and Enology,  a trade group for grape growers and winemakers that hosts the Winefest as a fund-raiser, will award a $700 cash prize to the winner.

The winner also will receive national publicity and promotion in becoming the official artist for the Winefest. The winning artwork will be featured on posters, t-shirts, wine totes and brochures as well as in national print and digital advertising. The 2018 Colorado Mountain Winefest is scheduled for Sept. 13 to 16.
