A series of events featuring local authors will continue at Crystal Books and Gifts, 439 Main St. in Grand Junction.

Starting at 6 p.m. Sept. 24, the Off the Shelf series will feature Jim Hale, a former mountain guide and author of “An Alaskan Life of High Adventure.”

At 11 a.m. Sept. 27, the event will feature Karen Fricke, a poet, educator, women’s writing facilitator and healer who combines Matrix Energetics techniques with cranial sacral therapy.
