U.S. Bank and the Colorado Mesa University men’s hockey team have teamed up to raise money for a program for cancer survivors.
U.S. Bank provided pink jerseys the Mavericks will wear during a game set for 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Glacier Ice Arena, located at
2515 Riverside Parkway in Grand Junction. The jerseys will be raffled off after the game as part of a fund-raiser for the St. Mary’s Cancer Survivorship Program. Raffle tickets sell for $5 and will be available at the game.
Pink “Puck Cancer” t-shirts also are available for $10 and will be sold at the game with proceeds to benefit the program. Admission to the game is $5, and gate revenue will be donated to the program as well.
Chase Engdahl, captain of the CMU men’s hockey team, said the team hopes to raise $10,000 through the various fund-raisers. Antonio Falcon, assistant captain of the team, said U.S. Bank has been a big help. “We were so thankful to have such an amazing community partner in U.S. Bank to help make our goal a reality.”
Carmen Shipley, a spokeswoman for the survivorship program, said the fund-raiser will help to meet the nonmedical needs of cancer patients.
