Barnes & Noble hosts pop culture celebration

A month-long celebration of popular culture will continue through August at the Barnes & Noble location in Grand Junction as part of a national campaign for the book store chain.

The celebration will include Throwback Thursday events that continue July 9, 16, 23 and 30 at the store at 2451 Patterson Road. The events will offer a look back at the iconic moments in pop culture from the 1950s through the 1990s and include special offers, giveaways and activities.

The celebration also will feature a comic collectibles convention is set for July 9 to 12, a Harper Lee celebration July 13 and 14, a Minions fun event July 17, Star Wars Saturday July 18, manga mania event July 19, fan girl Friday July 24, vinyl records event July 25, James Patterson day July 28 and what’s billed as a Dr. Seuss spectacular July 28 and 31.

Authors, celebrities and illustrators will visit the Barnes & Nobles location in Grand Junction and across the country. Stores also will offer pop culture giveaways as well as exclusive products for sale. Participants can enter a sweepstakes to win a $1,000 Barnes & Noble gift card.
