The Business Incubator Center in Grand Junction has scheduled an event intended to promote the development of the technology industry and entrepreneurship in Western Colorado.
The free event, dubbed Beer & Business at BIC, is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 15 at the center, located at 2591 Legacy Way.
The goal of the event is to bring together like-minded people to discuss ideas, gain insights into ways to improve business practices and gather feedback on businesses and projects. The long-term goal is to foster collaboration that leads to the development of the technology industry and entrepreneurism in the region.

In addition to the upcoming event, Grand Junction has been selected as one of five cities in Colorado to host an annual challenge designed to make public data more accessible and user-friendly. The winners of the competition receive seed money to help bring their ideas to fruition.
The Go Code Colorado program provides public data, direction and collaboration to develop solutions to problems facing business owners in the state.
