Benefit events allow dogs to really make a splash

A series of benefit events offering dog owners an opportunity to let their pets really make a splash is set to continue Sept. 10 and 11 at swimming pools in Fruita and Grand Junction.

Dog Daze is set for 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 10 at the Fruita pool at 324 N. Coulson St. Admission to the event, sponsored by Arrowhead Veterinary Clinic, is a donation to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Dog Days is set for Sept. 11 at the Lincoln Park Pool in Grand Junction. Dogs under 25 pounds will get in from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The event will be open to all dogs from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Admission is $5. Three or more dogs from a single family will be admitted for $12. Half of the entry fees will go to Roice-Hurst and half to the Reach Out to Kids program.
